Understanding Your Solana Wallet Address
How to Find, Share, and Use Your SOL Address
A Solana wallet address is a unique public identifier on the blockchain used to receive SOL tokens and other assets. It is safe to share with anyone who wants to send you funds — think of it as a bank account number for the Solana network.
What a Solana Address Looks Like. Solana addresses are 32-44 characters of base58-encoded text, for example: 7xKXtg2CW87d8V6zXKBq7cM8Y2FPHwzaAkxqEqD7x4rH. Each wallet has a unique address derived from its public key.
How to Find Your Address in Phantom. Open Phantom, go to the main screen, and click or tap your wallet name at the top. Your full public address will be displayed and can be copied with one tap. You can also generate a QR code for easy sharing in person.
How to Find Your Address in Solflare. In Solflare, navigate to the Receive section. Your address is displayed with a QR code ready to scan. Tap the address to copy it to clipboard.
Receiving SOL and SPL Tokens. Share your wallet address with the sender. Transactions on Solana typically complete within 1-2 seconds with fees under $0.01. Once a transaction is confirmed, the funds appear in your wallet automatically.
SPL Token Accounts. Each token type uses a dedicated associated token account (ATA). When you receive an SPL token for the first time, a small amount of SOL (around 0.002 SOL) is required to create the token account. This SOL is returned as rent when you close the account.
Important: Never Share Your Private Key. Your public address is safe to share. Your seed phrase and private key are never required to receive funds.
How to Find, Share, and Use Your SOL Address
Can I use the same address for all Solana tokens?
Yes. Your Solana wallet address works for SOL and all SPL tokens. The wallet app manages the token accounts automatically behind the scenes.
Can I change my Solana wallet address?
No. A wallet address is derived from your private key and is permanent. To use a different address, you would create a new wallet.
Is it safe to share my Solana wallet address publicly?
Yes. Your wallet address is public information — sharing it can only allow others to send you funds, not withdraw from your wallet.
What is the difference between a wallet address and a token account address?
Your main wallet address holds SOL. Each SPL token you hold has an associated token account with a separate address — your wallet app manages these automatically.
